St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Rocky Mount, Virginia is a warm, diverse parish located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. Click here to read our parish history.

We welcome all visitors and newcomers to the area. We have an active RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation) ministry. If you are not Catholic and are interested in becoming a Catholic or learning about the Catholic Faith, we welcome you.

Our parishioners are from all areas of Franklin County, from the towns of Rocky Mount and Boones Mill, from Smith Mountain Lake, and from the rural surrounding areas. Many of our parishioners have moved here from other parts of the country and the world, including Latin America and Vietnam.

Our pastor, Fr. Carlos Lerma is originally from Colombia. He is also the pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Martinsville, Virginia.
